This is a stated first edition copy of Bush’s memoir, Decision Points, which was published in 2010. The number line on the copyright page shows that it is also from the first printing. Bush has boldly inscribed and signed it on the title page To my friends, / Chris & Jess / Best wishes / Always / George W. Bush.
Bush writes in the introduction that he “decided not to write an exhaustive account of my life or presidency” but instead has “told the story of my time in the White House by focusing on the most important part of the job: making decisions.” Thus, he organized the book so that each chapter deals with a major decision or a series of related decisions. The notes inside the dust cover explain that the book “brings readers inside the Texas governor’s mansion on the night of the 2000 election, aboard Air Force One during the harrowing hours after the attacks of September 11, 2001, into the Situation Room moments before the start of the war in Iraq, and behind the scenes at the White House for many other historic presidential decisions.”
This is a beautiful book in fine condition. Bush has signed in black felt tip pen. Only an erased penciled mark in the upper right corner of the half title page and a tiny bend on a corner of the dust cover, neither of which is particularly noticeable, keep it from being very fine.
