John F. Kennedy

Click on image for larger size

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 1917-1963.  35th President of the United States, 1961-1963.  Mint condition presidential campaign newspaper signed John Kennedy.

This is an outstanding piece from the 1960 presidential campaign.  A tabloid-size newspaper, it was published by the Democratic National Committee in support of the party's presidential and vice-presidential nominees, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.  The front page bears the photograph of a smiling Kennedy between red-and-white banners proclaiming leadership for the 60's and urging kennedy for president.  Kennedy has signed in blue ballpoint next to his image.

Inside, the newspaper has a large two-page story about Kennedy, "a man who cares for america,” and profile articles on both Kennedy and Johnson.  It also has a number of articles addressing campaign topics, such as “The nation needs a president who takes the lead,” “The nation needs strength to keep the peace,” and “The nation needs new strategy to further freedom."  The back page has a photograph of Kennedy and Johnson together above a red-and-white placard urging readers to  vote democratic / kennedy for president / johnson for vice-president.

This piece is pristine.  It has one horizontal fold, which was likely the way the campaign distributed it, and which causes us to grade it very fine.  Absent the fold it would be extra fine.  This would  be magnificent in a framed display.

Unframed.
