Lyndon Baines Johnson, 1908-1973. 36th President of the United States, 1963-1969. First edition copy of Johnson's memoirs, The Vantage Point, boldly signed Lyndon B. Johnson.
This is an excellent, first-edition copy of The Vantage Point. Johnson's bold signature is affixed to the half title page on his bookplate embossed in gilt with the federal eagle and Johnson's classic initials.
The book itself is in nearly mint condition. The red cloth binding is bright, and the corners are not bumped. The binding is tight and square, and the interior pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket, which is protected in mylar, shows typical handling and has a crease on an interior corner, but is not price clipped and is in very fine condition as well. One would be hard pressed to find a copy of this book that is as nice as this one.
Johnson has signed in black felt-tip pen with a 2½" signature. The signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, whose sticker is affixed in a corner of the back of the half title page.
