Roger Brooke Taney, 1777-1864.  Secretary of the Treasury; Chief Justice of the United States, 1836-1864.  Autograph Document Signed twice, R. B. Taney, one page, 7½" x 12½", ca. 1814. Taney has signed at the conclusion on the front of the document and has also signed in a directive to the clerk on the back.  Very fine condition.
