James Earl Carter, Jr., 1924–. 39th President of the United States, 1977-1981. Special leather-bound edition of Keeping Faith, signed J Carter on the printed prefatory page.
This is the collector's edition of Carter's presidential memoir, Keeping Faith: Memoir of a President, published by The Easton Press in 1982. The book is bound in heavy gilt-embossed gray leather, and the edges of the pages are gilded. The book is completed with a gray marker ribbon.
Carter has signed with a beautiful large, blue signature on the printed prefatory page inside the front free endpaper.
The book comes from the estate of a local attorney renowned for his huge private library. His tasteful bookplate appears inside the front cover. Otherwise the book is absolutely pristine, as though it had never been opened.
