Lyndon Baines Johnson, 1908-1973.  36th President of the United States, 1963-1969.  Uninscribed first edition copy of A Family Album signed with rare full signature, Lyndon B. Johnson.

In 1954, Johnson's mother, Rebekah Baines Johnson, wrote and gave to him for Christmas a book containing facts about his ancestors, photographs, and other items relating to his family.  In 1965, Johnson, then president, donated the manuscript to the Johnson City Foundation in Johnson City, Texas.  The foundation published the manuscript, with 32 pages of photographs, under the title A Family Album.  Johnson wrote the introduction for the book.

This is a first edition copy.  Johnson has signed it boldly on the half title page with a black felt-tipped pen.

This book is in fine condition.  The binding is tight.  The only signs of wear on the cover are on the bottom edges of the cover boards.  The dust jacket has one small tear and a crease on the front but is otherwise in good condition.
