George Herbert Walker Bush, 1924–2018, and Barbara Pierce Bush, 1925–2018.  41st President of the United States and First Lady of the United States, 1989–1993.   8” x 10” color portrait photograph signed Barbara Bush and George Bush.

This casual photograph shows the President and First Lady seated on the beautiful rocky New England coastline at Walker’s Point at Kennebunkport, Maine, the site of the Bushes’ summer retreat.  They are pictured with their English Springer Spaniel, Millie.

Although it is undated, this photograph was likely signed while Bush was President.  The Bush Library archives show that the photo was taken on August 18, 1989, during the first year of the Bush presidency.

Millie was credited as the author of Millie’s Book: As Dictated to Barbara Bush (1990), a children’s book written from the dog’s point of view.  Millie gave a photo tour of the White House, complete with some White House history, and related her perspective of “the Prez.” 

This is a beautiful photo in extra fine condition.  Barbara Bush signed in bright blue, and President Bush has signed in black.  Without an inscription to any particular person, it is perfect for framing for display.
