This card, with the words "executive mansion, / washington" centered at the top, is Variant 1 that Stephen Koschal and Lynne Keyes identified in their work The History of Collecting Executive Mansion, White House, and The White House cards. According to Koschal and Keyes, examples of this variant signed by Arthur "are scarce and only a few examples are known.”
Arthur has boldly signed this card in black ink in his distinctive hand. The card is in fine condition. It has slight soiling, and there are mounting remnants on the back, but overall it is nice and would make an excellent framed display.
