Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, 1931.  General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, 1985-1991; last Soviet head of state, 1988-1991.  8" x 10" color photograph boldly signed, M. Gorbachev.

This is a beautiful photograph of Gorbachev embracing American President Ronald Reagan.  Reagan saw Gorbachev as the reformer that he was.  Under Gorbachev's leadership, political reform in the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact allies led to collapse of the Soviet Union, independence for many of its member republics, and establishment of more democratic forms of government.

This photograph is in extra fine condition.  Gorbachev has signed with a blue felt tip pen.

Unframed.
