Blackmun, who collected moose items, thanks a Supreme Court security officer for the gift of a stuffed moose. In full: “I was so pleasantly surprised to find the cute little moose on my file cabinet when I returned to the office on Monday morning. I am sorry I did not get to see you on Saturday evening. The moose will grace our chamgers for a long time. Thank you for doing this."
The letter has abrasion spots on the front and back where it has been removed from previous mounting. None of these, though, affects the signature, which is bold. Blackmun has signed with a strong black signature. Very good to fine condition.
