605303—William Orville Douglas, 1898-1980. Associate Justice, Supreme Court of the United States, 1939-1975. Vintage formal 11" x 14" portrait photograph by Underwood & Underwood of Washington, D.C., whose blind stamp appears just below the lower right corner of the image. Douglas has signed Wm O Douglas and has dated the photo Sept. 30, 1940. The lower right corner of the white border has been eaten away, but the defect is not close to either the signature or image and could be matted out easily. There is also a slight crease in the lower right corner of the image, small bends at the corners, and slight soiling at the upper right edge. Overall the photograph is in very good to fine condition.
