Warren Earl Burger, 1907-1995. Chief Justice of the United States, 1969-1986. Printed photograph of Burger with President Ronald Reagan, boldly signed Warren E. Burger on the mount.
Chief Justice Burger appears with President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy, before the grand staircase in the White House at Reagan's inauguration on January 20, 1985. Burger, in his black robe, is shown swearing in Reagan for his second term. This lithograph, which measures 5¼" x 6⅞", is mounted to an overall size of 8¼" x 10". Burger has boldly signed in black rollerball.
Burger is scarce in autographic material, and this photograph, with its association to Reagan, is very desirable. It has a slight curved bend in the upper right corner of the photograph, extending slightly onto the mount, but it is not particularly noticeable unless the light hits it at just the right angle. The piece is in fine to very fine condition, and the signature is excellent.
