Chester A. Arthur

Chester Alan Arthur, 1829-1886.  21st President of the United States, 1881-1885.  Executive Mansion card boldly signed, Chester A. Arthur, and dated August 11, 1882, in another hand on the back.

This card is in very fine condition.  It has slight soiling, and there are mounting traces on the back, but overall the card is very nice.

The card has been triple matted in claret red and marine blue suede with an inlaid gilt fillet, a presidential portrait of Arthur, and an engraved brass identification plate.  The card is floated above the blue background to give the piece a nice three-dimensional effect. It is framed in a gilt wood frame.
