Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt, 1884-1962.  First Lady, 1933-1945.  Beautiful 7¾" x 9¾" black-and-white White House portrait photograph inscribed and signed as First Lady, To Rosemary E. Wright / With good wishes / Eleanor Roosevelt.

This magnificent portrait shows Eleanor, in a formal gown, sitting at a White House desk with a framed portrait of her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, sitting on the desk.  Above the desk hangs a painting of President James Monroe with Queen Victoria.

Eleanor has inscribed and signed this photograph in gray ink.  The photograph has mounting traces on the back from prior mounting in an album, but they do not show through.  Overall the piece is in excellent condition.
