Gerald Rudolph Ford, Jr., 1913-2006.  38th President of the United States, 1974-1977.  Mint condition paneled, cacheted first day cover honoring Chief Justice Earl Warren, inscribed and signed Gerald Ford and dated in Ford's hand, November 22, 1998.

This is an excellent association item.  Ford notes that he was both a member of the Warren Commission," which Chief Justice Warren chaired and which investigated the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and 38th President.  He also signed the cover on the 35th anniversary of the assassination of Kennedy, the 35th President.

Ford was the last surviving Warren Commission member.  Despite numerous conspiracy theories through the years, Ford steadfastly continued to endorse the Warren Commission's conclusion that assassin Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.

Ford has signed, inscribed, and dated this cover in black.  The cover is in mint condition.  It is double matted in cattail suede with an inlaid gilt fillet, a photograph of Ford, and an engraved identification plate.  It is framed in a beaded gilt wood frame.

A History In Ink framed original.
