Franklin D. Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 1882-1945.  32nd President of the United States, 1933-1945.  Typed Letter Signed, Franklin D. Roosevelt, one page, 7" x 9", The White House, Washington, June 27, 1936.  This letter has a nice association, since it is dated the day that Roosevelt delivered his famous acceptance speech at the 1936 Democratic national convention telling Americans that they had "a rendezvous with destiny."

This letter bears a beautiful 3½” fountain pen signature by Roosevelt.  The integral leaf has been removed, and the letter has been laid down to the inside cover of a scrapbook, which has been separated from the scrapbook itself.  Some glue stains show through, but they do not seriously detract from the appearance of the letter.  Overall the letter is in very good to fine condition.
