Margaret Truman Daniel

Mary Margaret Truman Daniel, 1924.  Author; daughter of President Harry S. Truman.  Typed Letter Signed, Margaret Truman, one page, 6" x 9¼", March 24, 1947, on stationery of The White House, Washington.

In this letter, the President's daughter thanks New York Daily News cartoonist Ed Randall for a favorable cartoon about her national singing debut.  In full:  “Thank you so much for telling me, through your drawing, that you enjoyed hearing my radio debut.  I thought the drawing a very expressive one."

Margaret has boldly signed this letter in black.  Mounting traces show through from the back of the letter, but they are not as obtrusive as the scan suggests, and they do not affect the signature.  Overall the letter is in fine condition.
