Richard Milhous Nixon, 1913-1994.  37th President of the United States.  Typed Letter Signed, Richard Nixon, one page, 7¼" x 10½", October 22, 1976, on personal stationery, La Casa Pacifica, San Clemente, California.  With original envelope.

In this warm letter, Nixon thanks correspondents for remembering his wife, Pat, after her stroke in 1976.

This letter is in virtually mint condition.  Nixon has signed boldly in black.  The letter has only two normal mailing folds, one of which barely touches the signature.  The original envelope bearing Nixon's printed free frank—but no postal markings—is slightly soiled but overall is in fine condition.

The letter has been double matted in sage suede with a photograph of President and Mrs. Nixon, an ornate gold fillet, and an engraved identification plate.  It is framed in an ornate gilt frame.

A History In Ink framed original.
